Microsoft AI Chips
Tech Gaint Microsoft is developing its AI Chips to power the technology behind the various chatbots such as ChatGPT. Information was reported on Tuesday by people familiar with the matter.
Microsoft, an early backer of OpenAI, has been working since 2019 on these chips. The company tested the chips and OpenAI, as per the reports.
These chips would use for training large language models and supporting the inference. Both are needed for generative AI to process extensive data, understand patterns, and create new outputs to mimic human conversation.
Windows maker claims that its chips will perform better than those available in the market, reducing time and cost. In addition, other tech giants like Google and Amazon are developing their In-house chips to support AI technology. However, Nvidia is already dominating the market for such chips.
