The mystery object that washed up on the Australian beach earlier has been identified as Debris from the Indian rocket.
Mystery Object Washes Up on Australian Beach
The barnacle-encrusted device, which is about the size of a small car, was found in mid-July at Green Head which is 155 miles from Perth, the capital of Western Australia. The mystery object captured the attention of the locals before the police arrived to investigate the matter.
The Australian space agency has revealed that the object is more likely the debris from an expended third-stage of a PSLV – Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.
The object has been measured as 6.6 feet in height with cables dangled from the top and kept in storage. Australian Space Agency has said that the officials from both countries are working together to determine the next steps and provide further confirmation on this, which also includes the consideration of the obligations under the United Nations space treaties.
However, this is not that Australia has found something like this for the first time. It has also found a charred chunk from one of Elon Musk’s SpaceX mission jutting out of his paddock last August.
