Mosseri shared through Threads that due to the increase in spam attacks, they are going tighter and implementing the features like rate limits which means unintentionally limiting active people (false positives).
This feature by threads is the same as in Twitter, so when a Twitter user shared the screenshot of Mosseri’s post, Elon Musk reacted to that and said, “Copy Cat.” He also responded, “Seems oppressive.” Elon Musk Owened Twitter has already launched the same feature earlier this month, which has applied a limit on the users on the post, how much a user can view a post in a day to prevent system manipulation and data scrapping.
While Mark Zuckerberg, founder of the Meta, announced on Tuesday that 10s of millions of people are now coming on Threads daily, and that’s a way ahead of what they had thought. Zuck also said their motive is to improve the basics and increase retention for the rest of the year. He said it would take time for them to stabilize the platform, and once they have achieved that, they will focus on the community’s growth.
