The official report shows around 288 people have died, and over 803 people have been injured due to the tragic three-train collision in Odisha‘s Balasore. It has been reported as the country’s deadliest train accident over the past 20 years.

PM Narendra Modi also visited the sight of three train collisions in Odisha and meter with the families of the injured in Cuttack’s hospital. The tragic three-train collision in Odisha involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train.
The accident was so horrible that carriages were lifted high when the train collided, and one was twisted and smashed over a nearby truck. While one other carriage was tossed entirely over its roof and crushed the passenger section.
Ashwini Vaishnaw – The railway minister has said they are setting up a high-level committee to investigate this matter of the train crash further. Naveen Patnaik – chief minister, has declared one-day state mourning over this tragic three-train collision in Odisha.
Mr. Vaishnaw further has announced a compensation of Rs. 10 lacks for the families of those who have been died in this accident, a compensation of Rs. 2 for lacks who were seriously injured, and Rs. 50,000 for those who sustained minor injuries in this horrible train crash.
PM Modi has also expressed his distress for the people and announced a compensation of Rs. 2 lacks for the families of the dead and Rs. 50,000 for the injured from PMNRF – PM’s National Relief Fund.
Due to this horrible incident of three train collision in Odisha, 48 trains have been canceled, and ten trains have been shirt terminated till further instructions.
