Two terrorists linked with the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group and behind the killing of Kashmiri Pandit were killed in the Alshipora area of Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir in an encounter with security forces.
Terrorist Behind Kashmiri Pandit’s Assassination
The encounter took place during the anti-terror search operation by the security forces as they got some insight into the active terrorists in the Alshipora area. Kashmir Zone police have shared through social media platforms that the encounter started in the Alshipora area of Shopian. Police and the security forces were on the job after some time; they shared another post saying two terrorists had been killed in the encounter, and further search operations continued.
Both terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq, alias Abrar, of Lashkhar-e-Taiba. ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has further revealed that the Abrar was also involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma, who was killed outside his house in the Achan area of Pulwama in February. Sanjay worked as an ATM guard at J&K Bank and has never left his native place.
After his murder, the State Investigation Agency searched three districts of South Kashmir to find the accused. In today’s search operation, they have found Abrar, who was killed during the encounter.
