Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day US visit, has presented an array of gifts to US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, which includes 7.5 carat Lab grown green diamond to handcrafted sandalwood box, on a private dinner at the White House.
PM Modi has gifted a sandalwood box to US President Joe Biden, a ritual symbol mentioned in the ancient Indian text “Vaikhanas Grihya Sutram” of Krishna Yajurveda. As per the MEA statement, the text mentioned the donations of 10 kinds, and the box gifted to Joe Biden contained ten items representing these ten donations, including the idol of Ganesha and a diya. PM Modi also gifted the US president a first edition print of “The Ten Principal Upanishads,” printed at University Press Glasgow and published by Faber and Faber Ltd of London.
The Ten Principal Upanishads
Not only this but PM Modi has also brought some gifts with him for First Lady Jill Biden, which includes a 7.5-carat Lab-Grown Green diamond. This diamond reflects earth-mined diamonds’ chemical and optical properties. It is also eco-friendly as it has been made using eco-diversified resources such as wind and solar power, per a Ministry of External Affairs statement. Cutting-edge technologies have sculpted the diamond, emitting only 0.028 grams of carbon per carat.
Lab-Grown Green Diamond
PM Modi has gifted the Lab-grown green diamond of 7.5 carats in a box made up of papier mâché, which is also known as kar-e-kalamdani which involves sakthsazi or meticulous preparation of paper pulp and naqqashi.
