China health authorities reported on Saturday over 60,000 deaths in just one month. The Major reason for the deaths is to open up the virus restrictions in china. Due to this, covid-19 cases are increasing day by day.
According to the NHC of China About Covid-19
Jiao Yahui, head of the Bureau of Medical Administration under the NHC (National Health Commission), confirmed 59,938 covid-19 deaths between 8 December 2022 to 12 January 2023. According to Jiao Yahui, 5,503 deaths were caused by respiratory system failure by covid and 54,435 deaths from diseases combined by covid.

These figures of deaths are recorded by the medical facilities, but figures of actual deaths are higher. Beijing revised its methodology to count deaths by the covid, which would count only those who died of respiratory system failure.
According to China Heath Officials, the average who died in covid 80.3 years old, and 90% of fatalities were above 65 years. According to them, Millions of above 60 years old are unvaccinated.

China has stopped sharing daily covid-19 stats since it abandoned its strict zero-covid strategy. Also, they reopened borders for international travelers on 8 January, three years back.
According to WHO, China is underreporting the figures for covid-19 deaths from the current wave.
