28 January 2023. Bhopal – 1 Out of 3 Pilots was declared dead during the crash of Indian Air Force’s Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 on their routine exercise. Both fighter jets were used in the frontline by the IAF.
Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 Crash Near Gwalior
It has been reported that the 2 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force, Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000, were on their routine exercise. Further, one fighter jet has been reported to crash in Morena, MP, while the second one goes 100km away in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
There were 2 pilots in Sukhoi-30 and 1 pilot in Mirage 2000. Pilots from Su-30 successfully escaped from the get just in time, but the pilot from mirage 2000 could not make it and was declared dead after the crash. Both the pilots from Sukhoi-30 were taken with the help of helicopters and hospitalized after the incident.
Sukhoi-30 is a Russian-designed aircraft, and the Mirage 2000 is a french based fighter jet. Both aircraft have taken off on their routine operational flying training mission from the Gwalior Air Force Base squadrons.
Indian Air Force is examining the Situation
Defense source has reported that the Indian Air Force is examining the reason behind this Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 Crash, whether a mid-air collision led to this crash or what?
IAF Chief also briefed Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh on the situation. Also, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, shared through Twitter that it was heartbreaking news of the Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 crash and further stated that they have directed the locals to assist the air force with this situation and Mr. Singh also said that he is praying for the well being of the pilots.
This is unfortunate news of the crash of Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 – two frontline Indian Fighter Jets. Let us pray for the well-being of the other two pilots.
