French media RMC and L’Equipe confirmed earlier today that Lionel Messi will be suspended for two weeks, which means he will not be able to attend any training sessions, will not be able to play any matches, and will not get any salary during the suspension period.
Messi, who had played in Sunday’s PSG’s 3-1 home defeat to Lorient in Ligue 1, was unavailable at the team’s Monday training because of his South Arabia trip for commercial activity as a tourism ambassador, which became the reason for his suspension.
As per the reports, Christophe Galtier, the coach of PSG, has initially planned two days off on Monday and Tuesday for the team. If they beat Lorient and they will not beat Lorient, then they have to attend Monday’s training session. There will be a one-off only on Tuesday. But after the match, Lionel Messi went to South Arabie without getting the club’s approval and was unavailable for the Monday training Session with the team.
Lionel Messi is on a two-week suspension, so he will not be able to play the away match of his team against Troyes and a home clash with Ajaccio. His contract with PSG will also expire at the end of this season, so it’s more likely that he can play only three more matches with the French capital team.
Messi, a 35-year-old and the Fifa World Cup winner, who arrived as a free agent in 2021 in Paris, has scored 15 goals and registered 15 assists in Ligue 1 this season. However, the failure of PSG in the UEFA Champions League has annoyed the supporters that’s why the champion has faced booing in the last two seasons of Parc des Princes by home fans.
