The central government issued a ban on 22 illegal betting apps yesterday, including the Mahadev App, and just hours after the ban, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, showed his surprise, saying that it took months for the central government to ban the Mahadev App. They knew there was already an investigation into this app for the involvement in the money laundering case.

Baghel also asked the central government to arrest the app owner from Dubai. Baghel has also shared on the social media platform that he did not understand why it took too long for the government to ban this app. Still, they didn’t arrest the owner of the app. he further highlighted that ED had been doing an investigation for months, and still, they were not aware of the owner of the app.
He said it is like the BJP has done some dealing with the app owner or they were not doing so for the greed of 28% GST.
MeitY – Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology ordered the banning of 22 illegal betting apps on Sunday, including the Mahadev app. The Ministry has taken this action on the recommendation of the ED, which was investigating this Mahadev App money laundering Case.
Baghel said that it was a surprise to me that ED was conducting an investigation on this app for a couple of months, and yet the app was able to operate. However, he said as the app had been banned, the Indian government should take some steps to arrest the operators of the app from Dubai as soon as possible.
Apart from this, recently, a video has surfaced online alleging Baghel of receiving ₹508 crores from the App’s owner as part of a deal. To which Baghel replied that it was posted purposely. He does not know the app’s owner, although he has not met him once. So how could he have a deal with him? Moreover, ED, who was investigating this matter, was unaware of the app’s owner.
Bhupesh Baghel is saying that the BJP is trying to tarnish the image of the Congress just before the elections. Baghel said that it purposefully surfaced the video online just before the election to defame the image of the congress.
Out of nowhere, a video has come online where Shubham Soni confirms he owns the Mahadev app, and Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal are his advisors. To rectify the video, Baghel said that, first of all, he does not know him and does not have a deal with him the way he is saying. They had not met before except that Soni was a part of one of his gatherings.
And the second thing, Soni is claiming that he owns the app. The ED was also unaware of that, who was investigating this matter for months. They only learned about this just after the release of that video. Before that, they were all calling him the manager of the app.
