We have seen a lot of drama over a couple of days. Firstly, Sam Altman was removed from the company’s CEO he co-founded, and then there were rumors that he might return to the company. Still later, Microsoft also offered him a spot as CEO to lead new AI research activities.

In this series of Sam Altman – OpenAI saga, a new report has come where it has been reported that OpenAI’s board has asked its rival startup, Anthropic CEO, to replace Altman and possibly merge both the AI Startups. However, Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, has rejected both proposals. The board members of OpenAI and Dario Amodei have not commented on this yet.
On Sunday, OpenAI also offered Emmett Shear, ex-Twitch CEO, the position of interim chief, who had accepted the offer. Altman agreed to join a Microsoft startup with some other key personnel who had resigned from OpenAI amidst this controversy.
Meanwhile, on Monday, more than 500 employees threatened OpenAI for the resignation if they will not bring back Altman.
