Spaces agencies issue various alerts throughout the year related to an asteroid. This time too, they have issued an alert of an asteroid passing nearby to the Earth. But the situation might be serious this time because of the asteroid’s size. It is 60 feet in size and coming towards the earth at a speed of 7,200 Km/hr. So if it passes near the earth or goes closer, the planet has to witness some major impacts.

As per NASA, the single-foot asteroid will pass by the Earth today, named Asteroid 2023 HG1. By any means if this big rock touches the planet, then it can result in a massive extinction of human and animal lives. Same as it has been said at the time of the dinosaur’s extinction. It has been said that the dinosaur has been extinct because a large asteroid struck the planet, leading to the mass extinction of dinosaurs.
However, the International space agency NASA has clarified that the big rock is going to pass by the Earth today, and there will not be any serious impact on the planet as there will be a distance of 4.16 million kilometers between the rock and the Earth which is safe as per all the measurements. The distance is ten times greater than between Earth and the moon.
Asteroid 2023 HG1 has been reported as part of the Apollo Group of near-earth objects and mostly includes the large/ massive stones and asteroids floating in space.
