Oppenheimer has been seen a lot of times for expressing his guilt for the two bombs dropped on the two cities of Japan, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And after that devastating act, he spent his life raising his voice for regulating nuclear power. He also refused to participate in developing the hydrogen bomb and requested the government to treat it very carefully.
As the writer Nayantara Sahgal, who is also the niece of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, has revealed that Oppenheimer has tried to contact the Indian Prime Minister of that time, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, to warn him that the US government is trying to develop a more deadly weapon that the atomic bomb and urged Nehru not to take part into it and don’t exchange all-important thorium with America in exchange of the wheat, which was much needed in Indian at that time.
