Parents of the 4-year-old filed a case against McDonald.
McDonald was sued for $15,000 by the Parents of a 4-year-old girl in the USA after Chicken Nugget burns her second degree. According to the reports, A couple living in Broward County in Florida filed a case against McDonald’s and its operator, Upchurch Foods, for negligence and poor training. This couple is identified as Philana Holmes and Humberto Caraballo.
As stated in the court documents, Holmes brought her daughter a Chicken Nugget Happy meal from the drive-thru in 2019 at Tamarac. Holmes gave the happy meal to the child. As the lawsuit states, when her child eats the chicken nugget, it falls on her thighs and stucks between the thighs and the seatbelt.
Chicken Nugget inside the happy meal was very hot, which caused her skin and flesh to burn around her thighs. The lawyer also said that the chicken nugget was 93.3 degree Celsius, which burned her thighs skin and made the girl disfigured and scarred.

On Monday, McDonald’s legal team stated that we looked into this matter thoroughly and ensured our high standard of food safety and quality, which follows strict policies for how we cook and serve every product. Therefore, we respectfully disagree with the claims on the lawsuit as we followed the policies and procedures on this order.
Estevez said in court on Tuesday that the girl still has a scar on her thighs that doesn’t harm her, but sometimes she refers scar as the chicken nugget. Also, the girl’s name is not mentioned in the court documents, nor will she testify.
