Jury fined Samsung
On Friday, Netlist convinced a federal jury in Texas to award more than $303 million for violating patents related to data processing improvement by Samsung.
Marshal’s jury in Texas took six days to determine that Samsung’s high-performance memory module for computing willingly violated all five patents for which Netlist accused Samsung.
But the representatives of the companies did not respond to the request for comment. Also, Netlist’s stock was up to 21% after the decision on Friday afternoon.
The California-based Netlist company sued Samsung in 2021. Netlist alleged that Samsung memory products used in cloud servers and other products violate its patents. Netlist said its technology increases the power efficiency of memory products and helps deliver enormous amounts of data in less time.
The attorney of Netlist told the jury that Samsung took its patent memory technology after when they collaborated with Samsung on a project.
