State Police has reported that over 140 weapons surrendered in Manipur after the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his appeal to people to surrender any weapon to the police. 140 weapons surrendered in Manipur at different places.

The state police have revealed that the 140 weapons surrendered in Manipur include SLR 29, Carbine, AK, .303 Rifle, 9mm pistol, .32 pistol, M16 rifle, INSAS Rifle, INSAS LMG, smoke gun, and tear gas, locally made pistol, stun gun, modified rifle, JVP and a grenade launcher.
Further, police have reported that the situation is now relaxing in Manipur, and the curfew has been relaxed in various areas as
- For 07 hours, starting from 05:00 am to 12:00 pm in Thoubal and Kakching,
- For 08 hours, starting from 06:00 am to 02:00 pm in Tengnoupal.
- For 08 hours from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm in Jiribam.
- For 10 hours, from 05:00 am to 03:00 pm, in Churachandpur and Chandel.
- For 11 hours, starting from 06:00 am to 05:00 pm in Kangpokpi,
- For 12 hours (05:00 am to 05:00 pm) in Imphal West, Imphal East, and Bishnupur,
- For 12 hours starting from 06:00 am to 06:00 pm Pherzawl.
And there is not any curfew in the areas of Tamenglong, Senapati, Noney, Ukhrul and Kamjong. The positive development came after the press conference done by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on his last day of a 4-day visit to Manipur. During his press conference in Imphal, Shah appealed to all the sections of Manipur to maintain peace, hold the discussion, and increase harmony by surrendering their weapons. Shah also warned that people holding any armory must face strict action during the combined police operation.
