The number one team once now has failed very badly; the misery is not their defeat, but it is the way they have lost their matches.
In their opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023 against India, Australia failed to combat India’s Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and R Ashwin and was able to make only 199. Though they made their way back to the match by taking the wickets of 3 players of Indian at just two scores again, their bad fielding made it worse for them. Mitchell Marsh dropped the catch of Virat Kohli, and then they witnessed a record partnership of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, which boosted Men In Blue, and Australia lost its opening match.
The story was not different in their second match against South Africa, where the Australia Cricket Team, once known for its best fielding side, dropped as many as five catches in their match against South Africa in Lucknow. And the worst thing is that 2 out of the five catches were dropped in the 49th over of the innings, which was also the over of Captain Pat Cummins, which allowed the South Africa Team to post 311-7.
On the other side, South Africa stopped Australia in just 12 overs at 56-4, which led Australia to lose this match by 134 runs, the biggest defeat by runs in World Cups.
