From the statement of Vineet Pal, the Officer Disaster Management in Almora district, 22 of the people that were on board died on the spot, with the exception of 1, who died en route to a hospital while passing through Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. The local people and other accomplices, including local police and disaster units, rushed to the scene and began helping, rescuing and moving the injured members of the passengers towards the nearest suitable medic area for urgent care.
The area is mountainous, and travel across its ways tends to be cumbersome due to the nature of the road passages as they are narrow, cut through sharp hills, and have steep edges, which are unsafe for the travelling population. This tragedy points to the importance of road safety in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, as many similar kinds of road safety concerns have been raised in the past due to the ruggedness of the area, prevailing weather, and the condition of the roads. During this time, they would be offered all the support that they required.
