A massive earthquake struck Taiwan early Wednesday, which caused much damage to the infrastructure. Videos shared by people online show how this Taiwan Earthquake has caused buildings to tilt and the Taipei Metro and bridges to shake vigorously. However, information on the casualties has not yet been confirmed.

This is the strongest Taiwan Earthquake in the last 25 years, which has prompted Japan to issue a Tsunami alert. However, the alert was downgraded after the tsunami waves were reported, which were not as high as predicted.
The Taiwan Earthquake Monitoring Agency reported the earthquake at 7.2 magnitude, while the US Geological Survey estimated it at 7.4. The Taiwan earthquake occurred around 07:58 a.m., as per local time, at a depth of 35 km and approximately 18 km south-southwest of Hualien.
The earthquake in Taiwan has caused more than 87,000 people to lose electricity; the authorities are now working on the restoration work. Taiwan’s high-speed Rail network was suspended following the devastating earthquake.
Local people have shared videos on social media showing the aftermath and effects of the earthquake. The video shows buildings collapsing, the Taipei Metro shaking, and the earthquake’s effects on various areas.
