The Balanagar police, along with the Allapur police, have arrested a racket from Hyderabad for printing fake currency notes at home. The police have seized 810 fake notes worth Rs. 500 from them.

The accused has been identified as Vanam Laxminarayana, who was printing fake currency at his home at Uppal using a screen printer, JK Excel bond papers, green foil paper, cutters, and a lamination machine for the green foil paper. It has been further found that he was inspired by a web series, “Farzi.”
Police have also caught one of his alliances from a vegetable and fruit market, indicted as Erukala Pranay Kumar, with fake notes worth Rs. 20,000 based on a tip-off. At the same time, he was testing the fake notes at vegetable and fruit stores.
Police have also found that Vanam was accused of cheating people with fake gold, and an FIR was also filed against him in 2023. His family members were also well aware of it, but they didn’t do anything to stop him.
