After the last ASEAN-India Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed a 10-point agenda, which aims to rebuff the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between both unionisms. Being held in Jakarta, this one is concerned with the connectivity, reliability and partnership between India and the 10-member ASEAN bloc. Pursuant to the plan of action consisting of ten points highlighted by PM Modi, issues related to expanding trade, investment, and maritime connectivity will become a key aspect.

There was a focus on increasing the stability of military and political security in a given region, as well as improving the economic interaction. He also stressed the issues that are now the centre of global concern, namely sustainable development, protection of the environment, and food security. To mark ten years of India’s Act East Policy, Prime Minister Modi presented wholly entertaining new plans for increasing people-to-people relations. One of the very important announced events was the upcoming ASEAN-India Youth Summit, which would enhance interaction among the Young generation of the two regions.
This is coupled with the inauguration of the ASEAN-India Start-up Festival, which will promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge exchange between nations. Mr Modi also committed India to the ASEAN’s vision of the Indo-Pacific, which was described as a region free of conflict and full of opportunities. His vision is to have a strategy to address the problems of a region or areas in coordination with other areas in fields such as economic recovery for the challenges that came on with the pandemic, impacting climate change, among others.
