Pakistan has to face international embarrassment as one of their boxers has gone on the run after stealing money from his teammate’s bag in Italy.

On Tuesday, the Pakistan Amateur Boxing Federation revealed that one of the Pakistan boxers went missing after stealing money from one of his athletic fellows’ bags in Italy. The boxer has been identified as Zohaib Rasheed, who was invited to Italy to participate in the Olympic qualifying tournament.
One senior federation official said this is embarrassing for the country. They have reported this matter to the Pakistan Embassy and filed a police complaint in Italy.
Colonel Nasir Ahmed, the secretary of the National Federation, has said that Zohaib Rasheed’s theft of money from a fellow boxer is embarrassing for the country. Rasheed was part of a five-member squad that traveled to Italy to participate in the Olympic qualifying tournament.
Rashid seemed like a promising talent in Pakistan, winning a bronze medal last year in the Asian Boxing Championship. Nasir also revealed that Pakistan Boxer Zohaib Rasheed took the keys to the room of a female boxer, Laura Ikram, and stole foreign money from her bag before disappearing.
The police have started their investigation and are looking for Zohaib, but unfortunately, he is not in contact with anyone. Moreover, it was not the first time a Pakistani Athlete had left their country in search of a better future abroad.
