Significant changes have been implemented to the driving license protocols. Under the new driving license rules, one does not require going through driving tests conducted by government agencies like the Regional Transportation Office to obtain a driving license. Instead of the RTO, private driving teaching institutes will be authorized to conduct driving tests and issue driving license certificates.
These new rules will be implemented on 1 June 2024 and contain several other changes. As you already know, starting on 1 April 2024, no vehicles older than 15 will be allowed to run to control pollution. If any offender is found breaking the driving guidelines, he/she can be penalized, including fines up to Rs. 1 lakh.
The new rules aim to streamline the application process. Now, applicants do not need to visit the RTOs and can complete their entry process online, reducing the waiting time.
