Mohammed Shami, the senior pacer and one of the best bowlers of Team India, has been ruled out from the IPL 2024, which is going to start on 22 March 2024, due to a left ankle injury. Shami will go for surgery in the UK.

One of the best Indian Bowlers last played in the ODI World Cup against Australia in November last year, where he performed very well to help team India reach the top of the table.
On the last week of January, Shami was in London to take the special injection for his ankle, and he was told that after three weeks, he would be able to run lightly and take it from thereon. But the injection didn’t work for Shami, and now he has no option left but to go for surgery. He is leaving for the UK for surgery, and there is no chance he can play for Gujrat Titans in IPL 2024.
Mohammed Shami has been recently awarded the Arjuna Award; He has 229 Test, 195 ODI, and 24 T20 wickets in his decade-long career. Shami is believed to be able to play only in the Test Matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand this October and November.
