A spokesperson from the Haryana Government has said that Khattar has handed over his resignation letter and cabinet to the governor. Now, succeeding Manohar Lal Khattar, BJP Leader Nayab Singh Saini is all set to become the new chief minister of Haryana; he will take the oath of office today at 5:00 pm.
Khattar took this action after the BJP and JJP failed to reach a seat-sharing agreement in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
The BJP is still confident, saying that it has enough 41 MLAs, plus five independents, to reach the halfway mark of 45 seats at the Haryana state assembly.
