The team has to start the IPL without one of its most critical fast bowlers; Dilshan Madushanka, a fast bowler from Sri Lanka, gets injured just ahead of the IPL 2024. Mumbai Indians spent 4.6 crore Indian rupees to buy this player in the IPL auction.
The left-arm pacer had to be ruled out of the last match in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury. It has also been confirmed that one of the most essential fast bowlers of Hardik Pandya’s led Mumbai Indians will not be there to play some starting matches of this IPL 2024 for the team. A hamstring injury takes at least two to three weeks to heal, and that’s why this is a big blow for the team just ahead of the IPL.
The first two matches of the MI have been scheduled for 24th and 27th March 2024. The third and fourth matches of the MI have been scheduled for the next month on 1st and 7th April 2024.
It has been expected that Dilshan Madushanka will be available to join the team for the match on 07th April. However, there is no official update on how much time Madushanka can take to recover from the hamstring injury.
You should also know that the Mumbai Indian team has gone for Dilshan Madushanka this year by releasing Joffra Archer because he has played only two matches in the last two seasons and remained injured for the whole season. So the franchise has gone with Dilshan Madushanka, but now he, too, has got injured. Let’s see how the team manages its performance under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya this season.
