India’s defending champions began their men’s Junior Asia Cup on a high, conquering Thailand 11-0 in a Pool A match on Wednesday. India was completely dominating the game, and different team members were taking their shots into scores. Araijeet Singh Hundal shined by bagging two goals (2nd and 24th minutes), Arshdeep Singh made it in the 8th minute, and Gurjot Singh converted goals in the 18th and 45th minutes.

Sourabh Anand Kushwaha (19th, 52nd min) and Dilraj Singh (21st min) also converted goals further before Mukesh Toppo clinched the last goal in the 59th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Sharda Nand Tiwari scored a penalty corner, and Rohit took a penalty stroke in the 29th minute. India was much too swift and clinical for Thailand, who was unable to pose any sort of threat to their dominance on the pitch.
Now, India’s team looks forward to their next game against Japan, which will be held on Thursday. Pool A comprises Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Japan and South Korea apart from the team, while Pool B has Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Oman being the hosts themselves, along with China. Having begun such a dominating form, India appears to be the favourite for another good run to successfully defend their title in the Junior Asia Cup.
