Fortunately, The Continental certainly won’t disappoint John Wick fans, although fans will only be able to enjoy it as a single-season series. The prequel series, consisting of three episodes, started in September 2023 on the Peacock platform; it was intended this series would be a limited one focusing on the backstory of Winston Scott and how he got to become such an influential figure in the environment of contract killers. In an interview with Deadbreating, executive producer Basil Iwanyk explained that they do not have further plans to proceed with the series by producing a second season.

This decision is consistent with the concept of the show as an event rather than as a series anime format. Although the series received acclaim from the audience and viewers and the calm atmosphere of New York in the seventies, the series is completed, and the audience received the perception of Winston’s plot and the creation of the Continental Hotel. Although there isn’t a sequel to The Continental film in the works, John Wick’s cinematic universe is still vibrant. Upcoming projects are the Ballerina spin-off movie starring Ana de Armas, due for a release in 2024.
