According to an ICICI Bank spokesperson, new credit cards were mistakenly assigned to existing customers due to a technical glitch. Using their online portal, existing customers could see the details of the newly issued credit cards.
After this significant incident, users took to social media. They raised concerns about security and privacy, especially in the iMobile app, where existing users could see all the data of newly issued credit cards, even the CVV.
However, ICICI Bank responded swiftly and promptly blocked all the affected cards. Now, the bank will issue new cards to the affected people. Apart from this, the Bank assured that no reports of misuse have been reported until now, but if there are, the Bank will do anything to compensate the user.
