The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has taken rigorous steps against online platforms that publish vulgar, obscene, and pornographic content. The list includes 18 OTT platforms, 19 websites, 7 Apps from the Play Store, three apps from the App Store, and 57 social media accounts associated with these platforms.

Now, all these platforms are banned from being used by the public in India. Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, announced on 12 March 2024 that 18 OTT platforms for publishing vulgar and pornography content would be taken down. The decision has been taken under the Information Technology Act 2000 provision. Here is the list of all 18 OTT Platforms banned from being used for public access in India.

- Hunters
- Fugi,
- Prime Play
These Platforms have been banned because of the publishing of obscene, vulgar, and pornography content that portrays women in a demeaning manner and also depicts sexual acts and nudity in various inappropriate contexts, such as incestuous family relationships and relationships with students and teachers, etc.
The content on these platforms has been determined to be prima facie in violation of sections 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, Section 292 of the IPC, and Section 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
