Aerospace player Embraer S.A is planning to increase its supply chain in India and has said that the country’s aviation and defense sectors are robust. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Roberto Chaves, Emärbrêr’s Executive Vice-President of Global Procement and Suply Chain, focused on the company’s willingness to cooperate with Indian manufacturers and systém developers.

Chaves pointed out that India has a definite aviation and defence industry and would, therefore, be the ideal place for Embraer to source some of the most vital inputs. As per him, Indian manufacturers have capability development for Embraer’s defence segment, commercial aviation and corporate jets. India’s manufacturing capability is increasing, and it has strong experience in engineering and innovation, which are the primary reasons that motivate it. Embraer intends to expand its supply chain across the world with the help of skills and cheaper production of components and product parts in India.
This is considered as a strategic direction in the development of the company’s globalization to continue improving its competitiveness in the aerospace market. Now, with India already acknowledged as a major supplier for aviation and defence, the Brazil based aircraft manufacturing giant is eager to foster long term strategic partnerships with suppliers in India.
