Dubai Got 2 Years Worth of Rain in 24 Hours

According to the Dubai Meteorological Department, Dubai witnessed one of the worst rainfalls ever on Tuesday, when two years’ worth of rain fell in 24 hours, leading to severe flooding in different areas. As per reports, the region has witnessed 6.26 inches of rain within 24 hours, starting Monday around 10 pm as per local times.
The region usually receives only 3.12 inches of rain annually, but it has received more than double that amount within 24 hours. The Weather Department says Dubai typically receives 0.13 inches of rain during April.
Due to this heavy rainfall in Dubai, people have been seen panicking and taking desperate actions to reach their homes. Various videos have surfaced online showing dramatic situations at shopping malls, metro stations, roads, airports, and residential areas. Several Airlines have also canceled their flights due to bad weather conditions.
Due to the flood on roads and bad weather conditions, schools have been instructed to shut down, and corporate employees have been asked to work remotely.
