Rangaswamy said this while briefing the media early Monday on the decision by the Puducherry government to give Rs. 5,000 each to ration card holders affected by Cyclone Fengal. Several areas have been flooded by Cyclone Fengal, and the administration is in the process of succumbing to normalcy with additional effort that should be made to ensure that essential services are not hindered.
People have been advised to continue to exercise precaution and follow notices from disaster response committees. Shelters have been arranged through relief centres for those affected, and all security services are awaiting emergencies in the affected areas.
