To ensure a pothole-free national capital before the festival of Diwali, the Delhi government has declared a drive for repair of roads across the city. CM Atishi mentioned this on Sunday, stating that the idea is to improve the bleak road conditions with a focus on the comfort of the commuters. This project will, therefore, entail patching or repairing compromised road infrastructure and beefing up the stressed sections in Delhi.

CM Atishi, the government insists that most of the repairs will be done well before Diwali in a bid to unlock traffic and avert accidents resulting from potholes. She clarified that the government cares about people’s quality of life in Delhi and the ease of movement from one place to the other. ”Our aim is to provide adequate safety to all those who use the roads,” she said. It has surfaced at a time when many people are beginning to grumble about the poor condition of the roads, especially after the recent Torrential rains.
Today, one is likely to experience a pothole that harasses motorists or causes their cars to break down through misuse. In her response, CM Atishi sought to calm the public, explaining that the changes would be permanent and nothing close to mere patch jobs. Besides patching up the potholes, the plan will combine the republication of the roads and structures of the road infrastructure so as to ensure that Delhi roads are prepared for the festivals. Some teams have been deployed to scout for the most affected areas, and they begin work as soon as they can.
