Arvind Kejriwal will remain in the Tihar Jail until 15 April. Central agency ED has sought judicial custody of the CM of Delhi for 15 days, and the court has accepted the same. The lawyer of the Delhi CM has asked the court to provide him with three books and some medicines inside the jail. The book includes Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and “How Prime Minister Decides,” written by journalist Neerja Chaudhary. ED has said that CM Kejriwal is not very cooperative in this investigation; he is misleading the investigation.
CM Kejriwal was arrested on the evening of 21 March 2024 after a two-hour interrogation at his residence. The next day, the ED got Kejriwal on remand until 28 March 2024 from the Rouse Avenue Court. ED was seeking a 10-day remand of Kejriwal, but the court has allowed only six days of remand. However, after Kjriwal’s hearing on 28 March 2024, the remand of Arvind Kejriwal has been extended by four more days, i.e., till 01 April 2024.
Before the Delhi CM’s arrest, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and former minister Satyendar Jain were also arrested in the Delhi Liquor Scam Case.
