Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, has apologized to the Supreme Court; he said he had made a mistake by retweeting the allegedly defamatory video posted by the YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in 2018.

After the apology, the bench of justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta asked the complainant, Vikas Sankrityan, whether he wanted to close the matter over the apology or to continue the case. The court has also directed the trial court not to take up the case until 11 March 2024.
The complainant has claimed that a video named the ‘BJP IT Cell Part-2″ has been circulated by Dhruv Rathee, ‘ containing certain defamatory statements against him. Arvind Kejriwal has shared that video. The high court said, “When a public figure tweets a defamatory post, the ramifications extend far beyond a mere whisper in someone’s ears.”
