This groundbreaking data center project, which could cost as much as $100 billion, has come amid the massive surge in demand for AI data centers capable of handling increasingly complex tasks driven by the rapid adoption of generative AI technology.
According to reports, Microsoft will lead the funding for this thrilling project, “Stargate.” It is slated to be situated in the United States and has been anticipated as the flagship installment in a series of similar projects planned for the next six years.
Sam Altman and Microsoft have outlined the roadmap for this project, which consists of five distinct parts. Stargate will be the pinnacle achievement in the fifth phase. Currently, Microsoft is working on smaller supercomputers that could be released by 2026.
