UPS, a logistics company, announced on 2 March 2023 that they are investing around $20 million in India to build new technology centers. The first center will open in Chennai this year.
UPS is planning to expand its existing technology centers in US and Europe. In addition, building a new technology center in India will help the company make in-house technology in logistics.
UPS planned to hire about 1000 employees for the technology center by the end of 2025. In addition, it plans to expand its base in India and sees India as an excellent location for the company. UPS’s Chief and Technology Officer said We see India as a strategic location for the investment in the technology center that will grow in the upcoming years. We support domestic jobs in India with our technology center and advance skill set with our training and development.
UPS Launched Dedicated Airport Gateway in 2022
Last year in 2022, the company opened its dedicated airport gateway facility in Bengaluru and increased export and import capacity in Delhi Airport with its most prominent team in India. In addition, The company launched its new logistics domestic service in India with the partnership of InterGlobe Enterprises named MOVIN Express, currently available in 49 cities.
