UP CM Yogi Adityanath has recently laid the foundation stone for several facilities that would increase the overall sanitation and safety of the region ahead of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. These, amounting to ₹237.38 crore, are intended steps to guarantee sanitation, safety and comfort for front-line workers and volunteers for the event. The Chief Minister also inaugurated new sanitation vehicles, such as tippers and compactors worth ₹50.38 crore, and provided kits to 20,000 Swachhagrahis and Safai Mitras. Some additional life jackets were brought to boatmen, enforcing their protection during the event. Further, ₹173 crore projects were initiated for fire safety, water police, radio, and traffic signalling through security proved to be the administrative priority. In his speech, the CM also highlighted a need to reform the nation’s sanitation workers, sailors, and volunteers by providing welfare schemes for them.
Prior to reviewing preparations made for Mahakumbh, Yogi Adityanath took stock of developmental projects at principal religious places through which the government asserts its commitment to uphold spirituality and cultural tourism in the state. His visit also reaffirms the government’s planned focus on the efficiency of operations and proper planning for the event. There will be millions of people attending the next Mahakumbh 2025, which implies that such steps are vital to meeting the organizational demand of the event.
