The elections that fall in these two states are important since they will fix the next state governments, with many political parties preparing for the battle. In the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly polls, BJP-led Mahayuti comprising Shiv Sena MySql Eknath Shinde and NCP MySql Ajit Pawar are pitted against the Maha Vikas Aghadi consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena bearing Udhaw Thackeray and NCP bearing Sharad Pawar. It has 288 assembly constituencies, and the political journey has not been very stable since the 2019 assembly election, wherein BJP won 105 seats but could not come into power.
The current assembly has two tribal MLAs even though 81 assembly seats will be contested in Jharkhand. The current power alliance is working under the banner of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), and the current government seeks reelection against the strong Armed Opposition force, BJP, which capitalizes on Anti-incumbency. Besides these two crucial state polls, the Election Commission of India can also declare mid-term polling for the remaining Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies in several states.
