In a tragic incident, one soldier of the Indian Air Force was killed while five others were injured due to a terror attack on the convoy at Surankote area in the Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir.

Terrorists had targeted two vehicles with heavy gun firing; one of the vehicles belonged to the Indian Air Force. Out of the injured people, one is in very critical condition. Although all the injured people were airlifted immediately for treatment to the command hospital in Udhampur
In response, reinforcements were immediately sent to the spot, and counter-terror operations began. The Indian Air Force has stated that the convoy, which has been targeted near the Shahsitar, has now been secured, and the military has initiated a cordon and search operation in the Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the official reports, the ambush occurred while the convoy was routed to Jaranwali from the Air Force station around 06:15 pm. The assailants, having AK assault rifles, succeeded in escaping to the nearest forest, and the military is still in search of those terrorists. This is the first-ever attack on the Indian Air Force of this year. However, in the last year, the terrorists have targeted the military several times.
