Kalyan Railway Station has been put on high alert as two boxes containing 54 detonators have been found abandoned at platform number one of the Kalyan railway station on Wednesday.

As per the initial reports, one of the cleanliness persons found the abandoned boxes and alerted the on-duty GRP personnel. After getting the information, a bomb detection and Disposal Squad and a dog squad reached the place of the incident for further investigation. BDDS team has taken custody of the abandoned boxes and revealed that these boxes contain 54 detonators, which contain minimal explosive material.
Detonators can be used for various purposes, including blasting operations in quarries and catching fish in lakes. They can also send shockwaves through water, stunning or killing fish illegally.
The finding of these 54 abandoned detonators raises security concerns because the Kalyan Railway Station is a bustling hub in the Mumbai division of the Central Railway. The investigation is still going on to discover to whom these detonators are belonged.
