The videos have been shared from the Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, and Kharadi areas, showing tons of mosquitoes flying over the sky, which looked like a mosquito tornado. The situation has caused panic among the residents. Several people have complained that they face many problems due to the mosquito menace.
People living in the high-rise luxurious buildings in this area are confined inside their homes, even if they cannot open the balconies of their rooms. Moreover, parks and gardens are also off-limits for the children due to this mosquito situation.
Several people have come to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their concerns and urge the local administration to take steps to clean this area because the breeding of mosquitos can lead to various serious health concerns, including dengue, malaria, and even chikungunya.
Per reports, a mosquito tornado has occurred due to increased water levels at the Mula-Mutha River in Kharadi. Although the municipal started work on removing the excess water two days earlier, they were still not able to manage the situation till now.
This dire situation along the river bed affects various establishments like skyscrapers, schools, sports stadiums, IT park premises, old age homes, crematoriums, and the local villages. Apart from this, the riverbed also has a small dam and a water treatment plant, and due to these projects, the water flow has been slowed down, which causes an accumulation of water and becomes an ideal place for the breeding of mosquitos.
