India Maldives rows are getting heaty after the comments made by some of the Maldives Ministers on Indian PM Narendra Modi and his visit to Lakshadweep.
India-Maldives Row Takes Toll
PM Modi visited Lakshadweep earlier last week, and the images of the same are becoming viral on social media. This has led to a comparison between Indian tourism and Maldives because most Indians have started promoting a visit to Lakshadweep over Maldivie.
Then some of the Ministers commented on PM Modi and Indian Beaches and Tourist places, saying that India does not have a comparison with Maldives beaches and how India could bring as clear beaches as they have, whether their permanent room smell will be a significant downfall.
Maldives officials have suspended three of their leaders, Ministers Mariyam Shiuna, Mahzoom Majid, and Malsha Shareef, who made such comments against India and confirmed that there is no connection with the comments made by these ministers. But the heat is still on, and many Indian people are unhappy with these comments. A trend has started in the boycott of Maldives promoting Indian tourism. To support that, various big names, including Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, have come forward to promote Indian tourism.
Apart from this, one of the travel agencies, EaseMyTrip, has also suspended all flights, and their co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nishant Pitti, has said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that they will offer considerable discounts to promote tourism to Lakshadweep.
