Very heartbreaking news has come from Assam, where at least 12 people have died, including one minor and five women, in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck in the Golaghat district of Assam on the morning of 03 January 2024.

This Assam road crash incident took place at 05:00 am on Wednesday when a bus carrying 45 passengers was going through the NH 37 from Golaghat towards Tinsukia had a head-to-head collision with a coal-loaded truck, which was coming from the opposite direction on the same side.
The drivers of both the bus and truck died on the spot. At the same time, the people with minor injuries were taken to the Dergaon Civil Hospital, and those with serious injuries were taken to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) immediately.
As per their reports, construction work was going on the other side of the road, so all the vehicles were going through the same side. Some eyewitnesses have confirmed that the truck was coming at a very high speed and hit the bus.
Most of the passengers on the bus were coming from the Bharalukhuwa village and heading towards the Tilinga temple in Tinsukia.
