Donald Trump has faced a setback from the Colorado Court as the court has said that Trump is ineligible for the Upcoming presidential elections 2024. On Tuesday, the court said he is not eligible to hold the office.

The court has reversed the decision by a Denmark District judge and accepted the argument that Amendment 14 makes Trump ineligible to run for the presidential election. As per section 3 of Amendment 14, the one engaged in insurrection after taking the oath to support the constitution is not eligible to run for the presidency.
Further, the court has affirmed that Donald Trump’s action on 06 January 2021 constituted insurrection and made him ineligible for a presidential run. Now, Trump can challenge the decision made by the Colorado Court to the US Supreme Court.
The decision has only applied to the Colorado court with a stay until 04 January 2024 to appeal. The Colorado court is the first to apply this disqualification clause when a similar case in other states has been dismissed or is under appeal.
