ZPM – Zoram’s People Movement won a clean win at the Mizoram Assembly Elections 2023. The ZPM has secured 26 seats by surpassing the mandatory halfway mark in the 40-seat assembly to constitute their government in Mizoram.

Meanwhile, MNF-Incumbent Mizo National has secured only seven seats. Congress and the MNF have dominated the political landscape of the Mizoram since 1987, when the Mizoram gained statehood.
Zoramthanga, the president of the MNF and the chief minister, has been stood up as one of the most prominent faces in these 2023 elections. He became chief minister after the 1998 assembly polls and ended Congress’s 10-year rule. MNF has governed for a decade until the Congres has won in 2008 and 2013.
Talking about the BJP, in the Mizoram Assembly Election 2023, the BJP gave its best-ever performance in Mizoram by securing two seats, one at Siaha and another at Palak.
