The month of December has started with a hit on your pocket as the LPG price has been increased, effecting from the very first day of December 2023, just after the assembly elections of the five states have been completed.

Public Oil Marketing Companies has announced an increase in LPG prices from 1st December 2023, and it will affect only commercial cylinders as the Price of the 19kg commercial cylinder has been increased by Rs. 21. However, there is no effect on the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder. Thus, the everyday LPG consumer did not get any LPG cylinder price hike, nor did they get any relief.
So from today, if you are in the capital of India, you have to pay Rs. 1796.50 to refill your commercial gas cylinder, whereas the price for the same gas cylinder last month was Rs. 1775.50.
New Prices from LPG Gas Cylinder From 01 December 2023
- Chennai: Rs 1968.50
- Kolkata: Rs 1908.00
- Delhi: Rs 1796.50
- Mumbai: Rs 1749.00
Last month, there was also a price hike in commercial gas cylinders by more than Rs—100 on the first day of November 2023. The LPG gas cylinder price was Rs. 1731.50 in October but increased to Rs. 1833 in November 2023. However, the LPG prices decreased by Rs. 57.05 on 16 November 2023.
Impact of LPG Gas Price Hike?
As the price has been increased immediately since 1st December 2023, it will directly affect the food and restaurant industry. In winter, people tend to eat more hot foods and soups, so they might have to pay extra. Because the gas cost to restaurants will be higher, there are higher chances that they will charge high prices to their customers. Thus, this gas price hike might directly affect the food industry.
